One thing I love about this time of year is the switch up from pastel cutesy summer items into darker more berry toned a/w items which are just more my style! This is a collection of beauty bits and 1 quite significant fashion bit that I have loved adding to my a/w '14 look. For me this time of the year is all about the rosy cheeked vampy look which completely matches the darker evenings and the crisp "I can't believe I have to get up at this time and omg it's so cold my fingers are dropping off" winter mornings.
The summer is all about light makeup bases including tinted moisturizers and those elusive-nobody knows really what they're really for-BB creams. However the winter really brings out the worst in my skin with it becoming drier than I thought humanly possible therefore I love to go for a slightly heavier foundation base a la *American summer holiday purchase alert* Covergirl's Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 foundation. With a primer and concealer built in as well as the foundation, this gem is the ultimate in the multi-tasking product perfect for that lazy winter half awake morning makeup sesh. For those rosy cheeks which are almost a must this time of the year, Illamasqua's Cream Blusher in Dixie gives that bitten berry pink hue.
For the eyes I am obsessed with bronze-y glittery eyes and a sleek cat eye flick this fall. Soap and Glory's Supercat Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Black creates that perfect feline flick with the felt tip pen application allowing an easy glide over your eyelid. To add that seasonal pop of glitter, Illamasqua's (Illamasqua is clearly having a moment in this post) pure pigment in ore is ridiculously vibrant packing that perfect glittery punch.
On the lips, berry colors are my ultimate favourite for this time of year with two picks making it into this post. The luxe golden packaging of Estee Lauder's Signature Lipstick in Woodland Berry makes it irresistible and the pinky berry shade is so wearable. Dark Vampy reds are also a must for this time of year with Elf's Matte Lip Color in Rich Red giving that dark mysterious lip look. This deep purple-y colour features again on my nails for this month a la Revlon's Devil's Lure (that name creeps me out every time). One coat and this will give you a fresh berry nail with two or three coats giving you a deep deliciously dark tone.
Oh boy and those Timberland boots just speak for themselves; comfortable, warm and wintery. I think it's safe to say I am utterly obsessed with these. I almost want it to get extremely cold so I can use them for their true purpose. Truly the words of a fashion addict.
